"San Cai Yi Tang: The Soup" compresses and flattens the flavor of lotus root and pork rib soup-a deeply local, grandma-made dish from the artist's hometown-into algorithmically generated, standardized, and decontextualized descriptive vocabulary. The work interrogates the limits of language, as well as how large language models regulate, substitute, and potentially erase non-dominant embodied sensory experiences and the intergenerational inheritances that shape selfhood and cultural identity.
